Valentine’s Day is still far enough away I have time to help plan our fun night with Jas and find an outfit to wear. I put together some of my favorite Pinterest inspired outfits and paired them with a couple of accessories to make the look perfect.
This bold color combo of blush with vibrant red is so daring and I adore it! Plus I love the boxy shape of the blouse with the flowy skirt; I will be able to eat every bite of a delicious dinner and not feel like everyone can see my food baby. I love the idea of a super nude nail (like Essie’s Tuck in my Tux), non-glitzy statement earrings and a pretty clutch to tie everything together. Plus, be spontaneous and adventure to your favorite dessert place after dinner.
Jas and I tend to enjoy a romantic night in rather than going out on Valentine’s Day. Rocking an oversized sweater dress with tall socks will keep you comfy and cute. You still seem snuggly, but showing a little bit of leg. And if you’re staying inside forget all that jewelry. Just rock some delicate studs and your favorite dainty necklace (I adore this arrow!) to keep your look simple. Sweep on some lip stain and you will keep your color even after all those kisses.
If you’re lucky enough to live somewhere warm enough to star gaze on Valentine’s Day I’m jealous! No need to slip on heels and a skin tight dress to have a romantic night; throw on something warm and easy, like a sweater and scarf, break out your kicks and grab a blanket. If you decide to bring some snacks or beverages a backpack will prove to be chic and practical. Don’t forget to keep those lips hydrated and kissable. Smooches under the stars are the best!
Which pin-spiration is your favorite?
I am always in need of some great gift inspiration and Valentine’s Day is one of the hardest holidays to buy for; you don’t want to go over board, but you also don’t want to seem like you didn’t try. Here are just a few of my favorites for that someone special no matter the budget.
fresh SUGAR Lip Sweeties in Mini: I hate to say it, but lip balm is not only a necessity in my life, but also a favorite gift to both give and receive. A girl can never have enough colors.
LG Mobile Photo Printer: I can’t get over how darling this mobile photo printer is; talk about convenient! And it comes in white in case you need a little something for your man.
Rifle Paper Co Stationary: Now she can write love notes on beautiful stationary.
Daniel Wellington Watch: A simple, classic gift. And one they will never take off.
Pssssst – if you want some more gift ideas, be sure to check out HelloKorin’s gift list.
Have you ever been stuck between a rock and a hard place? Well, I am in that position right now. Of course it is of nothing serious, but I am not sure what to do with my hair.
Right now, I am back to what I had Freshman year. That mid length, almost to my bra strap across my back. Its pretty, don’t get me wrong; thankfully my color is growing out so that its not completely obvious that I haven’t been to the salon in…well… let’s just say a while.
But I peruse around Pinterest and I see all these super cute lobs! I want one. No for reals… I want Olivia Palermo’s hair! It’s just so adorable and sexy and flirty. Here are two of my favorite lobs:
Both are completely different, one is straight and streamline, while the other is spunky.
So the questions remain – Do I have the guts to chop it off again? – Do I have the stamina to continue style my hair every day once I do cut it? OR! Do I continue to grow it and aim for this…
Okay readers, what do you think I should do? -Ciao
A lot has been happening, some good some bad, but I have a pretty way to take your messy bed head and turn it into something chic.
Earlier this week I was skating around Twitter and found a video about some hair trends that are a must for spring and braids are back! I personally am in love with them. They are completely boho, but can be chic and sophisticated; it all depends on your style.
Right now I am specifically fascinated by the crown braid. I haven’t mastered the craft of creating this look, but I am learning. Don’t forget to highlight your braids with glittery bobby pins or a shiny hair tie for an added pop of color. I have also found that Josie has a wonderful spray that adds texture and shine without being over powering. Let me know how you wear your braids. -Ciao
Girls, when you first start dating a guy, you try to look cute and flirty all the time. You take extra time to do your make up and pick out the best outfit. But as time goes on, you convert back to your sweats and a t-shirt, you forget to shave for a day…or two…, and you don’t always wash your hair. But come on, how hard is it to put on a dress, throw your hair up in a high bun, slap on some tinted moisturizer and some tinted lip balm? Boom! You have a simple, chic outfit.
Don’t get me wrong, I am guilty of slipping into ‘relaxed’ way too often, as I am sitting with Boyfriend right now and that is exactly what I am wearing. In all honesty though ladies, it wont take much to impress your man. Sometimes you just need some inspiration to get back into the swing of things. Here are a beauty products & tips that will keep you looking fresh and fun any day. -Ciao
Perfectly Kissable – fresh SUGAR in Coral will give your lips a much needed hint of color. Just enough so it looks natural, while keeping your lips moist and delectable.
Stilla’s Stay All Day Illuminating BB cream – It will perfect your complexion and will keep your skin moisturized and protected all day long.
Forget Me Nots –
- Always throw on a bit of white eye shadow or liner in the corner of your eyes to keep your eyes looking awake and fresh.
- Don’t forget your mascara! No matter what else you’re wearing, mascara will give the illusion that you are more put together than you are willing to admit.
- Even if you don’t shower from head to toe every day, shave your legs. He doesn’t want to touch stubble.
*Sigh of happiness* I am finally home. Another semester has come and gone. No more stress. No more books. No more tests. Just me, my family, and really long Christmas “To Do” list. I have bought all of my immediate family’s gifts (thank goodness), but I still have to finish Boyfriend’s and my roommates’. So much to do, with so little time. But, I am always one to do well during crunch time.
This morning, while I was groggily checking my Twitter feed (yes, judge away. I do check all of my social media first thing when I wake up) I noticed a tweet from the lovely Dallas Shaw. She is holding a Mai Couture giveaway. Until this about 10 o’clock this morning I had never heard of Mai Couture, so of course I looked.
Instant love. They have “papiers” that are just-the-right-amount of make up! And they are the perfect size for on-the-go! Mai Couture is now a favorite bookmark. From Blemish Control Blotting Papier to Blushes and Bronzers, these little papers are perfect gifts for friends, family, or even yourself. Not only are their products cute, something Dallas mentioned is their lovely packaging. Until that moment I had not realized that was a big factor for why I fell in love so quickly. Presentation is a large part of selling any product and Mai Couture has hit it spot on.
So, if you are still looking for gift ideas, stocking stuffers, or you want to try something different check out Mai Couture and follow them on Twitter! Oh! And go look at what Dallas has been up to. She is such an amazing artist! I can’t help but wish to have her skill. -Ciao
My friend at Limezinnias Design sent a little joy into my life about a week ago via a link. The girls at The Glitter Guide have brightened my days quite often lately. In the midst of studying, when content becomes too overwhelming, I stop and take a little break. I almost always find myself stumbling back to their simple aqua and white screen. These fun-loving ladies express that their goal is to “add ‘sparkle’ to your day“.
Of course I subscribed to their newsletter immediately. They used the word ‘sparkle’ openly and without shame. My heroes. Each day my inbox welcomes another email with The Glitter Guide‘s newsletter. Sometimes the topic is fashion, sometimes beauty, and other times, lifestyle. So go ahead. Add some of The Glitter Guide’s “sparkle” to your life. -Ciao
It has been a long time since I have opened WordPress. Oh, how I have missed you! Recently, life has been hectic, but then again, when is it not? I have been focused on applying for internships and completing my online portfolio.
Oh! I forgot to tell you, I have been designing a new portfolio to present my work. All of the information is from my time in college and covers a majority of the courses I have taken. I tried to leave space so I could add more work considering I am now free lancing for multiple people. It still needs a lot of help, but hopefully, I will be finished with it this weekend.
I have not been shopping for anything major lately, unfortunately bills need to be paid before fashion is bought. Silly rules of life. I did pick up a new lip color yesterday though as a treat for making it through the last few weeks of overwhelming mess. Number 355 Tempt Seduction from COVERGIRL is the perfect shade for this season. There is enough punch of color to knock anyone’s socks off. I hoping it will make me seem more confident today while I lead a class discussion.
Last month I found a wonderful fashionista whose blog I absolutely LOVE to read. Zoella is maintained by an adorable British girl who is savvy concerning all things makeup and fashion related. Her posts are insightful and engaging. The most recent youtube video on “Dealing with Panic Attacks & Anxiety” hit close to home and made her even more relateable. Thanks to BlogLovin I am able to stay up to date with every post she writes.
Time to restart preparation for discussion today. Wish me luck. -Ciao
I was recently given some gifts from Europe. A friend visited for a two-week whorl wind trip and loved every minute. She visited eight countries and when I asked her which was her favorite, she “Them all!”
On the car ride back from the airport I listened to story after story, and descriptions of every detail of the adventure. Needless to say, I loved it. I heard about the people, the traffic, the sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and weather. I could tell she already missed being there.
Upon arriving at home we looked at her 800 pictures (literally) and she brought down three small bags. I was shocked, and excited, that she had brought me something. I opened the paper bags to find these lovelies: a ring made of Murano glass from Italy, a leather coin purse from Italy, and a barrette from Paris! I was, and still am, so excited! I squealed a little on the inside when I opened the barrette. I know that they will get good use and they are just so cute!
After falling in love with my barrette I had to figure out how to wear it. Here are few of the ideas I found. I can’t wait to try it out. Good luck rocking your own! -Ciao
